The Guidance Corner website idea for the knowledge translation assignment was something that we (Tracy Pia B00812820 and Labeeb Ahmed B00804312) thought would be a creative project that combines our knowledge of the course and our skills as computer science majors. This format plays into our website design experience and also highlights the convenience and importance of being able to access knowledge on the web. As the internet continues to grow and become more accessible to members of society who are not able to actively seek out medical professionals with general concerns, information found online is a great first step for awareness and figuring out how to move forward.

 

Our goal for this assignment was to create a website where people with general concerns on topics related to social behaviour, such as aggression and stereotyping, could visit and become more aware of how those types of behaviours and thoughts manifest in people and steps they could take to reduce those kinds of behaviour. We think that this website format is suitable for raising awareness and teaching people how to deal with their general concerns over these types of concerns since access to the web is increasingly becoming more available and people can remain as anonymous as they want. Many people are adept at using the web, and the younger generation are more likely to seek information on the internet, thus this website will be a great way to reach a larger audience and help more people.
